In the summer of 2022, my client (a 77 year old former principal) went to visit her grandchildren and felt that she’d become a little shaky walking across the kids’ soccer fields. She felt concerned about her strength and knew she needed to get stronger to improve the quality of her life.
She is very disciplined with her long daily walks, but without having a set time and plan to perform strength training together, she lacked the motivation to do this work on her own and noticed the effects.
So she got in touch with me and we started twice-weekly personal training sessions where we worked on her strength, balance, and stamina.
Not only have her strength and balance improved, but her walking speed has gotten faster (tracked on her fitness watch). It’s easier for her to walk down hills, she no longer feels as stiff after her long walks and, as a surprising bonus, it's easier for her to pick things up off the floor, as her flexibility has improved too! She says she loves seeing the progress that she’s made!
